The world’s wealthiest individuals like their luxury hotels.

According to consultancy New World Wealth in its 2018 annual review, multi-millionaires (those with with $US10 million or more in net assets) visited these hotels during the past year:

New World Wealth ranked the hotels based on the estimated number of multi-millionaires who visited each hotel.

The super-rich also have hobbies.

Art collecting is currently the most popular pastime for multi-millionaires globally.

“Notably, over the past few years cycling, watch collecting, fly-fishing and car collecting have become more popular, whilst golf, tennis and horses have become less popular among the world’s super-rich,” says New World Wealth.

Notable fly-fishing spots include: Snake River, Jackson Hole, Wyoming; River Spey, Tulchan Estate, Scotland; Ahuriri River, Central Otago, New Zealand; Bow River, Banff National Park, Canada; Chimehuin River, Patagonia, Argentina; Madison River, Montana,; West Ranga River, Iceland; Yellowstone River, Montana; Brooks River, Alaska.

The top 10 hobbies ranked: Art collecting, yachting, skiing, golf, collecting cars, cycling, horses, fly-fishing, collecting watches, tennis.

And when they’re not getting their feet wet, the rich also like a train trip.

New World Wealth created this list by interviewing top-end travel agents and by tracking the wealthy in the media.

And when the wealthy moves countries, they are more likely to come to Australia.

In 2017, Australia topped the world with a net inflow of 10,000 high net worth individuals, those with net assets of $US1 million ($A1.25 million) or more. Second was the US with 9000.

Popular places for them to move to in Australia included: Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Perth and Brisbane.
