A 16-year-old boy is in a serious condition after being shot twice by police southwest of Brisbane this afternoon.
Police were called to a domestic disturbance understood to be involving a father and his son at a house in Danube Crescent, Springfield, about 2.30pm.
The 16-year-old allegedly lunged at police with a knife before police fired multiple rounds, with two shots injuring him.
Police confirmed he was taken to the Princess Alexandria Hospital in a serious but stable condition with gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Neighbours have spoken about the incident, with one telling the Nine Network: “I heard a big domestic row going on and the next thing there was two gun shots so obviously very scary.”
An investigation of the incident will be conducted by the Ethical Standards Command.
