Several people are in hospital this afternoon after a crash involving a mini bus and a four-wheel drive in Sydney’s south-west.

Emergency services rushed to the busy Northern Road in Bringelly at 1.35pm and began administering first aid to the injured.

Six people on board the minibus suffered minor injuries, including one with a head gash, NSW Police has confirmed.

It is believed the bus was transporting a group of adults with disabilities.

Eight of those injured required further treatment, including the male driver of the four-wheel drive.

They were transported to the Nepean, Liverpool and Fairfield Hospitals, NSW Ambulance told 9NEWS.

The Northern Road has been closed in both directions at Mersey Road due to the crash and people are being advised to avoid the area.
