AN out-of-control bushfire is threatening homes and property north of Naracoorte in the Limestone Coast region.
An emergency warning was issued by the CFS just before 2.30pm Saturday, advising people at The Gap, Frances and Bangham — in the Lower South East and Upper South East of South Australia — to evacuate the area because of severe danger.
Aerial bombers have been requested to support ground crews. The blaze is burning through grass and travelling east towards Frances and Neuarpurr, in Victoria.
Flames are already effecting Gap Rd, Kochs Rd, Walkinton Hills Rd, Teates Rd, Badmans Rd, Crinoogle Rd and Frances Rd.
“If you are in this area you are in danger. There is a risk to your life and property,” the CFS warning said.
“Act now. Only leave if the path is clear to a safer place. If you can’t leave, take shelter in a solid building and actively defend it.”
