A man has been charged with killing a man whose body was discovered in a Gold Coast home last week.

The 40-year-old man's body was found by police after they were called to the Coolangatta home last Thursday.

Following investigations, a 45-year-old Labrador man was arrested by police on Thursday morning and charged with one count of homicide.

He was due to face Southport Magistrates Court on Friday, with police also due to give an update on the case on Friday morning.

Police already made a public appeal for anyone who had dashcam footage of a gold Mitsubishi Magna with licence plate number 973XPZ in the vicinity of Dixon Street, Coolangatta around the time of the death to contact them.
