POLICE have charged a 47-year-old in relation to two incidents in Kelmscott last night in which it will be alleged he pulled a knife on a teen before raping another woman a short time later.

Sex assault squad detectives arrested and charged the man after they carried out a raid on the Camillo man’s home in the early hours of this morning.

It will be alleged that at 7.55pm he approached a 16-year-old girl, who was sitting under a shelter near the Kelmscott Train Station.

It’s claimed he produced a knife, forcing the girl to walk with him across Streich Avenue. Police said the girl was able to break free from the man and run to the train station.

There were further reports that the man was seen running south on Streich Avenue.

The second incident occurred less than a hour later at about 8.45pm, at a home in Kelmscott. It will be further alleged the man sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s.

He faces two charges of deprivation of liberty, seven counts of aggravated sexual penetration without consent, one count of threats to injure, endanger or harm and a further count of aggravated burglary.

He is due to appear in Armadale Magistrates Court tomorrow, Monday, February 5.

Detectives are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with any information in relation to either of these incidents to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
