RACING Victoria stewards have laid 19 charges against four separate training operations over the alleged illegal use of excess cobalt.
Terry and Karina O’Sullivan face nine charges, after their horses Darragh (twice) and Gold A Plenty allegedly tested positive to excess levels of cobalt in 2015 and 2016.

Monica Croston faces three charges after Hezza Tidal Wave returned a urine sample containing cobalt in excess of the permitted threshold of 200 micrograms per litre in June, 2016.
Matthew Leek will answer to four charges following an investigation into the circumstances behind Champagne Kisses returning a sample containing cobalt in excess of the permitted threshold of 200 micrograms per litre in urine in March, 2016.
Trevor J Andrews faces three charges following an investigation into the circumstances behind Coppola returning a sample containing excess cobalt at Geelong in December, 2016.
All four training operations have been charged under the Australian Rules of Racing with having either administered, or caused to be administered, a prohibited substance.
There is also the issue of presenting a horse to race with a prohibited substance in its system.
Stewards claim Darragh tested positive twice — at Ballarat on November 21, 2015, when he finished fifth, and again at Sandown on August 24, 2016, when he finished 11th.
The charges will be heard by the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on a date to be fixed.
