A renowned artist and her two sons sat grim-faced in the ACT Magistrates Court today as they were committed to stand trial for murder over the death of an 81-year-old woman at Red Hill in 2015.
Melissa Beowulf, 60, Bjorn Beowulf, 29, and Thorsten Beowulf, 31, were all charged in August after a long-running police investigation.
The alleged victim was Katherine Panin, who was Ms Beowulf's mother-in-law and her sons' grandmother.
Police said they found Ms Panin at her home after reports she had died after falling down some stairs.
In an earlier hearing, the court was told the brief included large volumes of financial records, some of which were collected during a search of the family home.
Ms Beowulf has been an Archibald Prize finalist and has paintings hanging in major institutions.
She and both her sons will appear in the Supreme Court in February, where a timetable for the trial will be set.
