British police are investigating a second alleged sexual assault by actor Kevin Spacey, dating back to his stint in London in 2005.

The allegation comes in the wake of London's Old Vic's report into Spacey's time at the theatre, which they said unearthed 20 complaints of inappropriate behaviour against the actor between 1995 and 2013.

'AC/DC' co-founder Malcolm Young dies aged 64, 'Transparent' star Jeffrey Tambor resigns amid sexual harassment allegations and Drake stops his Sydney show to call out a sex pest.

In their report, the theatre said it had urged 14 men to talk to police because of "the nature of their allegations".

The new investigation, conducted by Scotland Yard's Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command, relates to "allegations of sexual assault against a man in 2005 in Lambeth", the London district where the Old Vic is located, Variety reports.

Scotland Yard was already investigating a 2008 claim of sexual assault against Spacey.

The actor, who was fired from Netflix show House of Cards and is to be edited out of Ridley Scott's upcoming All The Money in the World, has faced numerous allegations since Oct. 30, when actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of making a "sexual advance" towards him when he was 14.

Hollywood's ongoing sexual harassment scandal has led to a number of criminal investigations across the world.

Producer Harvey Weinstein, director James Toback and actor Ed Westwick are among those being investigated for sexual misconduct by police in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Paris and London.

In Hollywood, the LAPD has said it's in "uncharted territory" with the flood of high-profile allegations following October's Weinstein expose, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The department has assigned five teams of two detectives, including cold-case specialists, to exclusively investigate around 22 alleged sex crimes linked to the entertainment industry, the Times reports.

The LAPD had also forwarded on 28 reports of incidents that happened outside of its jurisdiction to the appropriate departments, ABC noted.
