Hip-hop duo A.B. Original have dominated the nominations for this year's Age Music Victoria Awards.
Adam Briggs and Dan Rankine burst into the local music scene last year after the release of their provocatively-titled album Reclaim Australia.
The pair are now in the running for not one, but six awards – including best band, album and live act. Their debut single January 26 is also up for best song.
Among the other bands in the running to claim an armful of awards next month are Cable Ties, who have a total of five nominations. The Melbourne three-piece, who are up for best emerging act, will perform at the official after-party.

Preston quartet RVG are also in the running to snap up best emerging act and have received four nominations.
The band that dominated last year's awards, Triple J darlings King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, are up for potentially three trophies this time around.
Music Victoria chief executive Patrick Donovan said this year the awards would celebrate 12 years of highlighting Victoria's best music.
"It's a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on the best artists and venues and bring them into the one room to celebrate their achievements," he said. "It's also helpful for music fans. There's more music being released than ever before, so it's important to highlight the very best work of the year."
Donovan said he was particularly excited to see some fresh faces "really dominate" this year's nominations.
"We're seeing three new acts who are very new on the scene receive numerous nominations based on their exciting new releases and dynamic shows," he said. "Cable Ties, RVG and The Teskey Brothers join more established acts such as A.B. Original, Dan Sultan and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard who regularly poll well."
Public voting is now open and closes on November 10.
The Age Music Victoria Awards will take place on Wednesday, November 22 at 170 Russell.
Tickets are available via moshtix, 170russell.com or by calling 1300 724 867.
