Mandurah police have charged a teacher from a school in Halls Head following an alleged altercation with a student on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said it will be alleged the teacher grabbed the 13-year-old student by the back of the neck and pushed him to the ground.

The teacher, a 48-year-old man from Meadow Springs, has been charged with Common Assault and is due to appear in the Mandurah Magistrates Court on 19 September 2017.
