Canberra trainer Nick Olive is confident Single Gaze can handle the Victorian way of going after she pulled up well from her first jumpout in Melbourne.

It was the first time she's run anti-clockwise, with all her previous races in the Sydney clockwise direction.

Olive said he might give her another barrier trial on Tuesday ahead of her resumption in next Saturday's group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400 metres) at Caulfield.

He said the group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington would be her second run as she builds up to the $3 million Caulfield Cup (2400m) in October.

"The jumpout on Tuesday went super, she came through nicely. She might have another jumpout on Tuesday and then go to the Memsie Stakes," Olive said.

"She loved it [the Victorian way], she got round it really well. We were really, really impressed. She got on the right leg straight away and did everything right.

"She'll start in the Memsie and then head to the Makybe Diva two weeks after that."

Single Gaze's fellow Canberra star Fell Swoop also had his first run for the spring, finishing third on a barrier trial at Randwick on Monday.

Canberra trainer Matthew Dale's preparing Fell Swoop for the inaugural $10 million Everest (1200m) at Randwick in October.

Meanwhile at Thoroughbred Park on Friday, training duo Keith Dryden and Scott Collings enjoyed a running double, with firstly Honour The One breaking her maiden status in the maiden handicap (1280m) before Rock Prodigy took out the benchmark 55 handicap (1206m).

The Barbara Joseph and Paul Jones stable also enjoyed a double.

Almost Court made it three wins in a row since landing on Australian soil and joining the Canberra stable.

The five-year-old saluted at the Sapphire Coast on debut after moving across from New Zealand and then won at Canberra two weeks ago. He bolted clear down the home straight for a comfortable three-length victory in the benchmark 67 handicap (1900m) on Friday.

Damagic took out the maiden plate (1080m) by a similar margin a couple of races later.
