While AFL executive Ali Fahour will know his fate later on Wednesday when he fronts a suburban league tribunal, Victoria Police have confirmed that they have not laid any charges or commenced any probe into the incident.

A spokesperson said they had not received a complaint from Whittlesea player Dale Saddington, who was struck by a "coward punch" by the AFL employee in a game last weekend.

The outcome of the tribunal hearing could be pivotal to Fahour holding his position with the AFL.

Social media has condemned what Fahour did and many believe a single punch of that strength could be fatal.

All sections of the Victorian community have been outspoken over the Fahour incident, including champion boxer Danny Green, who has repeatedly told footballing codes that such vicious attacks should never be tolerated.

The AFL has not commented on the incident, awaiting the outcome of the tribunal hearing.

However damning vision released this week of an on-field attack by Fahour has left the executive desperately holding onto his position.

The fallout across the Victorian community has been rarely seen in sporting circles for years.

Fahour has previously been suspended for a total of nine matches for indiscretions.

If he receives a nine-match ban, or more, Fahour would exceed the threshold that would result in a lifetime ban from playing suburban football.

He would be deregistered from the Northern Football League, and any other Australian football competition, for breaching the 16-match threshold. A life ban would begin immediately.
