Fresh from hosing down the issue of same-sex marriage this morning, insisting coalition policy remains unchanged, Mr Turnbull was in Melbourne to spruik his government’s jobs and infrastructure investment with Member for Gippsland, Darren Chester, when the Prime Minister decided it was the perfect time for a media opportunity. Snapchat? What a pro.

So, minus the Commonwealth Car and armed with a couple of coins in his hand (or is it a Myki these days?), off he went to catch the tram.

Only problem is, no one cared.

No one cared when he read the Melbourne network map.

But especially, in true Aussie-commuter style, no one cared when he actually hopped on the tram, as Nine News journalist Charles Croucher discovered.

But it was the mysterious woman sitting opposite Mr Turnbull that has the internet clawing for answers. Who is she? Why doesn’t she care? Did she simply not recognise him? What’s up with the headphones?

Here’s hoping he made it on time.
