Australia’s population just topped 24.5 million, based on projections from the ABS.

Here’s the bureau’s population clock just a few minutes ago:

According to the ABS, Australia’s estimated residential population stood at 20.828 million at the end of the June quarter of 2007, nearly a decade ago.
