Wizard of Odds: Live Odds, Form and Alerts for all Racing

Racing NSW stewards will open an inquiry after investigating reports Godolphin failed to report a horse, which tested positive to strangles in August last year.

Fairfax Media understands senior members of Godolphin Australia have been interviewed during the investigation in the past week, including former trainer John O'Shea.

The stewards were acting on a tip off and it is understood that the horse was quarantined by Godolphin and had been swabbed by their vet for strangles.

However the organisation never informed stewards of the positive result.

Stewards took the investigation to the next level by opening an inquiry on Tuesday.

It is another drama for the Australia's biggest racing operation after O'Shea resign his position in April.

It's global chief executive John Ferguson resigned earlier this month and Joe Osbourne was announced as his replacement on Thursday.
