FIVE teenagers have been arrested after a dramatic police pursuit where a shot was fired in Melbourne’s outer west.
Police fired at the car after the driver allegedly drove at officers before fleeing.
Two girls, aged 16 and 17, a boy, aged 17, an 18-year-old Geelong woman and a 19-year-old Maryborough man were arrested and being interviewed by police.
The drama unfolded after police spotted a Holden sedan, believed stolen, on Heaths Road in Hoppers Crossing, about 23km southwest of Melbourne CBD, and attempted to intercept it just after 3pm.
Officers stopped the car a few kilometres away in Snipe Court, Werribee but it’s alleged the driver reversed at police, hit a police vehicle then sped away.
A single shot was fired by an officer.
Sen Constable Adam West said the vehicle was found dumped on Rob Close.
“A short time later all five offenders were in custody,†he said.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police Professional Standards Command will investigate, Sen Constable West said.
