FIVE years ago he was homeless with only clothes and a skateboard to his name. Today he’s planning the wedding of his dreams with $200,000 in his pocket.
A Willetton man said he and his fiance were “non-stop crying†after winning the top prize on a scratchcard this week.
The 20-year-old man, who asked not to be identified, said he and his 20-year-old partner were overwhelmed after winning on a card he bought from his local Lucky Charm Newsagency.
“She just cried, she’s been crying non-stop crying, we both have,†he said.
“She’s just gone and bought herself a vacuum cleaner. It’s funny, that was the first thing she wanted.â€
The man said the win represented a huge turnaround in his fortunes.
He claims he spent three months living on the streets as a teenager after he ran away from home and had been struggling for money ever since.

The remaining money, he said, would be spent on studying for his dream job on a minesite and a new car for his mother.
“She’s really been doing it hard, she’s been having trouble with her car so I’m going to park a Mustang in her drive,†he said.
