An 11-year-old girl has died after falling from an English theme park ride similar to the attraction at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast on which four people were killed last year.
The accident occurred on the Splash Canyon ride at the family-owned Drayton Manor park in Staffordshire.
Evha Jannath, a student at Jameah Academy in Leicester, was at the park as part of a school trip, according to Staffordshire Police's website.
She was airlifted to hospital but died a short time later, an ambulance service spokesman said.
The Splash Canon ride bears a similarity to Dreamworld's Thunder River Rapids ride, which was decommissioned following a deadly accident in October.
Four people were killed when their raft flipped and trapped them in a conveyor belt.

Drayton Manor said it had closed its Splash Canyon ride following the accident.
Jameah Academy confirmed Evha's death in a statement on its website.
"As a school community we are deeply shocked and our thoughts are with our pupil's family and friends," it said.
"We are liaising with the relevant authorities at this time.
"Please be assured that the safety and wellbeing of all of our pupils is a priority."
