A clinical Australian rugby league side has taken apart New Zealand to score a 30-12 win in the Anzac Test.

The Kangaroos were everything the Kiwis weren't on Friday night — clinical in attack and consistently where they needed to be in defence.

Halves Johnathan Thurston and Cooper Cronk were typically influential and directed the traffic superbly, but Broncos back-rower Matt Gillett was a sight to behold.

He saved at least two tries by bringing down Kieran Foran and Jason Taumalolo on the line as the Kiwis peppered his side of the field.

It ultimately helped the Kangaroos to a five-tries-to-two victory in which Josh Dugan, Blake Ferguson, Will Chambers, Tyson Frizell and Jake Trbojevic crossed.

The Kiwis' charge came too late, with Simon Mannering and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck dotting down in the final half-hour.

There may be some bad news for the Dragons out of the game, with Dugan's cheek swelling up badly after clashing heads with Kiwis prop Russell Packer.
