The trial of late night trams, trains or buses services was due to end in June, but Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan on Saturday said the Night Network would become a permanent feature of the city.

"Thousands of people now rely on Night Network and it's not going anywhere," Ms Allan said in a statement.

"The Night Network is part of what keeps Melbourne the world's most liveable city, and it's here to stay."
