It’s tasty chicken, but is it worth $300?
THERE are few, if any, acceptable reasons to be speeding on our roads or running a red light. And police across Australia have probably heard every excuse there is over the years.
But one driver caught running a red light in Western Australia has come up with a new one. No, it wasn’t to get his pregnant wife to hospital.
He had to get his kids to Nando’s. Sure, it’s tasty chicken, but come on!
It was an expensive trip to Nando’s, costing the driver $300 and six demerit points.
That’s some expensive chicken. Picture: TwitterSource:Twitter
Fortunately the good people at WA Police regularly tweet some of the crazy excuses drivers have for speeding.
Like the unaccompanied learner driver who was caught going 41km/h over the limit and with a blood alcohol reading of more than 0.05.
The driver simply said: “I’m doing it for my mum, it’s a long story.â€
Or the driver who was caught doing 125km/h in an 80km/h zone, but was adamant he was only doing 109km/h.
So slow down on our roads. The chicken isn’t going anywhere.
