Shane Warne's tell-all stage show Warney Uncut has been postponed until further notice.

The Australian cricketing legend raised eyebrows earlier this year when he announced he was adapting his life story for the stage.

Shane Warne's live show postponed

The former cricketer's tell-all stage show Warney Uncut has been postponed until further notice.

The 'king-of-spin' said he was producing the antithesis of Eddie Perfect's hit musical because there are, supposedly, too many "inaccurate" stories about his life floating around.

"There's been a lot of ups and downs, a lot of moments in my life that haven't been reported correctly," Warne said at the time. "Some of it's been pretty hurtful. I've caused a lot of it myself, and I take responsibility for a lot of those things, but also there's been things that just aren't true, that are factually wrong."

But Warney's hopes of redemption have been put on hold, at least for now. On Thursday, the former cricketer announced "with regret" that Warney Uncut won't be hitting theatres in the immediate future.

The reason? A "major publishing" house has bought the rights to his autobiography, and wants to make sure the book and stage show are conveniently released at the same time.

"I'm very thankful to all of you who bought tickets to the shows and supported me," Warne wrote on Instagram. "I hope you're excited like I am RE my autobiography and apologies again RE Warney Uncut."

Warney Uncut was meant to premiere at the Sydney Opera House on April 20, before touring nationally until May 12. Some tickets were selling for as much as $399.

Warne has, of course, promised full refunds for everyone who has already snapped up a ticket.
