Carlton v Essendon
Carlton have posted their first win of the season, upsetting their old AFL enemies Essendon by 15 points in atrocious conditions at the MCG.
The Blues kicked two goals to two behinds in the last quarter and won 7.15 (57) to 6.6 (42), adding another chapter to the fierce rivalry between these clubs.
Carlton captain Marc Murphy was best afield, leading his team superbly with two crucial goals, 32 disposals, 10 tackles and six clearances.
Defenders Sam Rowe, Simon White, Caleb Marchbank and Lachie Plowman also shone for the Blues.
After Carlton's Ed Curnow snapped a goal early in the last quarter, Essendon had several chances to respond.
But they could only manage two behinds and Sam Kerridge kicked a goal from a free with less than a minute left to cap a great win.

St Kilda v Brisbane
St Kilda have survived a scare from Brisbane to claim their first win of the AFL season, downing the Lions by 31 points at Docklands Stadium.
After trailing by six goals midway through the second quarter on Sunday, the plucky Lions took control of the game and looked poised to snatch a massive upset.
But the experience of Nick Riewoldt and Leigh Montagna came to the fore in the final term and the veteran duo guided the Saints to a 14.23 (107) to 11.10 (76) victory.
It will be a massive relief for Saints coach Alan Richardson after his side gave up handy leads in losses to Melbourne and West Coast.
But there will still be question marks about their finals credentials after another hot and cold performance.
