FEAST your eyes on the Royal Easter Show’s newest star attraction — lasagne on a stick.

Following on from striking Show fare such as pizza in a cone, turkey leg mignon and the cheeseburger pie, this year show-goers can chow down on deep fried lasagne shaped like a Golden Gaytime ice cream.

It will cost $7.

The brainchild of Antonio Sabia of Artisan Pasta Espresso in Potts Point, the lasagne on a stick is layers of pasta, meat and sauce held together in a crispy fried casing.

Show organisers had asked Mr Sabia, who already operates a health juice bar, crepes stall and wood fire pizza oven at the Show, to come up with something new to tantalise showgoers’ tastebuds.

“We decided on lasagne on a stick and managed to get it right the first go,” Mr Sabia said.

“It’s a normal lasagne in a tray, we then freeze it and then slice it into portions.

“We then put egg mix over it and add two type of breadcrumbs before we refreeze it again. Then we crumb it and deep fry it.”

The Royal Easter Show runs from April 6 to 19.
