Canberra track work rider Riharna Thomson will be farewelled at Tamworth's Allstone Chapel at 2pm on Friday afternoon.
Shocks reverberated around the racing community when the young rider died on Friday from critical head injuries sustained after a fall at Thoroughbred Park.
Thomson fell from the horse Chosen Prayer after the mare broke its leg on Tuesday in the lead up to the Black Opal Stakes day, turning Canberra's premier race day into a sombre affair.
A minute of silence was followed by a video tribute on Black Opal day, with jockeys wearing black armbands in tribute to Thomson on Sunday.
Thoroughbred Park marketing director Briony Young said the venue would hold a memorial service for Thomson, and would arrange a bus to take members of Canberra's racing community to her funeral in Tamworth.
Funeral Arrangements: Allstone Chapel, Lincoln Grove Memorial Gardens, 1040 Gunnedah Rd Tamworth NSW, Friday 10th March at 2pm.
