A major outage at Westpac has affected many of the bank's branches around the country.
The problem started about 10:30am (AEDT).
The ABC understands systems are not working in Westpac branches.
A spokeswoman for the bank said the cause of the problem was being investigated.
"We are experiencing technical issues impacting some Westpac branch systems around Australia," she said.
"Customers can still do their banking via online, mobile, ATMs and EFTPOS.
"We are helping our customers in the branch to address their queries while we work hard to restore our systems as soon as possible.
"We sincerely apologise to customers for any inconvenience"
