Byron Bay woman Sara Connor has reacted with shock after being told by Indonesian prosecutors she and her boyfriend are equally to blame for the killing of a Bali police officer.
Bali prosecutors said she should be convicted of manslaughter and jailed for eight years for her role in the death of the policeman.
Lawyers for Connor said the sentence demand was incredible as she did not deliver the fatal blows to Wayan Sudarsa.
Connor and her British boyfriend David Taylor were facing the prospect of 15 years in jail if they were convicted of murdering police officer Wayan Sudarsa during a fight on a Kuta beach in August.
Prosecutors had earlier recommended a manslaughter charge against Taylor, who admits bashing Mr Sudarsa during an argument over a stolen bag.
But the prosecution team has told the court that Connor was equally culpable and should be jailed for the same amount of time — eight years.
They said Connor was uncooperative in the investigation and never admitted her role in the killing, and that this should be held against her.
She is now facing up to eight years in jail.
Earlier prosecutors said Taylor had no intent to kill the policeman, and showed remorse for his actions.
The defence will respond to prosecutors next week, with a verdict expected in mid-March.
