A RANDOM axe attack at a Sydney service station has left one person seriously injured and wounded another.
A woman aged in her 20s allegedly attacked the two people about 2.25am on Saturday at the Seven Eleven petrol station on Stanmore Rd, Enmore.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the alleged attacker was a “tall, young, beautiful blonde†who swung the axe at a man’s head leaving him with a serious head wound.
A woman buying milk was also knocked unconscious before the woman allegedly walked calmly away from the scene.
Police said a man in his 30s was hit in the head inside the station, and a woman in her 40s was struck outside.
Both were taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where they were understood to be in a stable condition.
Police said that a short time after the attack a woman, believed to be aged in her 20s, was found by officers a short distance from the service station and arrested, with an axe in her possession seized.
She has been taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for assessment under police guard.
