A toddler has been killed after being hit by a car on the driveway of a home in Sydney's west.

Police and emergency services were called to Wooten Street in Colyton about 7:00pm, following reports a 23-month-old boy had been struck by a car.

He died at the scene.

The 23-year-old male driver of the car has been taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

Inquiries are continuing and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
