Katie Holmes has celebrated her 38th birthday with her daughter Suri.

The proud mum, 38, took to Instagram to share a series of happy snaps with her more than 650,000 followers.

“Thank you for the birthday love. I really appreciate it!!!!” she captioned a black and white shot of party hats.

Holmes then posted two selfies with 10-year-old Suri, who is rarely pictured on her mum’s social media account.

“Birthday vibes!” she captioned one shot, adding in another, “Birthday vibes continued. So grateful today.”

The pair seemed to have a fun night out on Sunday, bowling and eating some tasty treats.

“Showing strength in bumper bowling lol #birthdayfun,” Holmes captioned a shot of the alley.

She also uploaded a photo of some birthday sweets, writing, “Love today. #mothersanddaughters #friends #love.”

Holmes recently opened up to The New York Times about parenting Suri, whom she shares with ex-husband, Tom Cruise.

“I try to make our world very much an environment that’s just all about being a kid without too much of Hollywood coming into that,” she explained. “And I just enjoy it. Honestly I think that there are so many books and opinions about how to be a great mum, and you have good days and bad days, and sometimes you do great and sometimes you could have done better. But I have to say I’m really enjoying having a 10-year-old. She’s a remarkable person.”
