A MAN who allegedly repeatedly punched a woman in the head in the city has been arrested.
The victim was walking to work on Pirie St just after 6.30am on Friday when she was allegedly assaulted by a man from behind.
The offender, who was not known to the woman, allegedly repeatedly punched her as she lay on the ground.
The woman, 38, suffered facial injuries and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.
Patrols searched city streets for the suspect and found the man in the West Parklands off Sir Donald Bradman Dr just after 8.30am on Saturday.
The 36-year-old man of fixed place was arrested on an existing warrant and then later charged with assault causing harm.
He has been refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
