GET ready, Australia. UK gossip magazine Tatler have updated their “Guide to Snobbery†for 2016 and the surprising additions may just shatter what you think you know about taste.
The 300-year-old bible famous for its depictions of British royalty and insider advice on “what to wear on a private jet†has laid out the new social rules just in time for Christmas.
In breaking news, the magazine has deemed it OK to use the word “toilet†which it claims had remained the “eye of the storm†when it comes to words that make you “inwardly clenchâ€.
One can also no longer be snobbish about piercings, carnations, putting your make up on the bus, using liquid soap and saying “mirror†instead of looking glass. It is 2016 after all.
There are certain things however, that remain undeniably crass, Tatler claims. Among them; Red cars, visible bra straps, eating on the train/tube, fake Christmas trees, baby showers, talking about money and coloured loo paper.
So there you have it Australia. No excuse for not having a classy Christmas.
