IT’S the place where A-list celebrities become ad hoc confectioners and food-loving Instagram fiends queue for hours to take the perfect photo of their plate — even if they don’t eat what’s on it.

Instagram recently released a list of the top 25 most photographed eateries in America for 2016. But, despite nationwide crowd-pleasers like Shake Shack and In-N-Out Burger, and institutions such as Katz’s Delicatessen and the Bagel Store, this year’s must-Instagram restaurant in more like a hyperactive candy emporium.

It’s called Sugar Factory American Brasserie, located in Manhattan’s Meatpacking district, where the most popular items on the menu are the “Monster” burgers for $18 and a 64-ounce “Lollipop Passion” goblet for $36 — a boozy, high-calorie blend of vodka, melon liqueur and coconut juice, garnished with lollies.

“[They] get a lot of love on Instagram because of their vibrant colours, playful presentation and larger-than-life size,” founder Charissa Davidovici explains.

With regulars such as Kim Kardashian, Scott Disick, Coco Austin, Ice T, Britney Spears and Drake, the three-floor “brasserie” and lolly store has become a tourist hotspot for foodies, with thousands queuing up to drop 18 bucks on a Twinkie Dinkie Shake or a Cotton Candy Cosmopolitan Goblet.

Sugar Factory’s specialty, of course, is their sprawling dessert menu. Here are a few of the most-snapped items on offer:

The Caramel Sugar Daddy Cheesecake milkshake ($18)

Vanilla ice cream with cheesecake pieces and caramel sauce, whipped cream and a slice of NY style cheesecake, a piece of Sugar Daddy candy and a rainbow lollipop in a chocolate covered mug with crushed Graham crackers.

The Bacon Cheeseburger Milkshake ($18)

Strawberry ice cream drizzled with strawberry sauce and topped with whipped cream, a mini

cheeseburger, candy bacon strip, pretzels and M&Ms in a chocolate covered mug with pretzel

pieces and M&Ms candy.

Of course, who could go past the World Famous Sugar Factory King Kong Sundae?

24 scoops of ice cream covered with hot fudge, caramel and strawberry sauce, sliced bananas, toasted marshmallows, Reese’s Pieces, chocolate chip cookies, crushed waffle cones, Gummi Bears, white chocolate strawberry shavings and toasted walnuts with whipped cream, giant lollipops and sparklers on top!

This heart-starter will cost you $99, but is good for a party of 12 sugar addicts.

According to Instagram’s data for 2016, New York City actually boasts six of the 10 most-Instagrammed dining establishments, including TAO Downtown at number three, Katz’s Delicatessen at four and the milkshake makers at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer rounding out the top five.
