PRINCE Harry met Rihanna in Barbados yesterday – but the pop queen didn’t take a bow and instead the pair opted for a handshake.
The brazen superstar turned up telling event supervisors just 20 minutes before as a “surprise†guest for Harry at a Toast the Nation event celebrating national achievements, The Sun reports.
The singer, 28, known for her racy dress sense and explicit videos, decided to opt for a conservative knee-length light blue dress with sleeves to meet royalty.
It seemed the Prince was shy when approaching the pop superstar, as she was pictured below politely waiting for the Prince to say hello.

The world famous pair clasped hands briefly inside a marquee when they met for the first time.
Harry: “Hello, it’s very nice to meet you.â€
And later, while reading a letter from the Queen, Harry, 32, praised the “extraordinary†talent of the island’s music industry – of which multi-millionaire Rihanna is the most well known stars.
“The extraordinary talents of your people, from the cricket field to the music industry have been admired and recognised throughout the world,†he said.
“Barbados remains a favoured holiday destination for British people, not only for the incredible natural beauty of your country but because you have a great warmth and generosity of spirit.â€

In 2013, Rihanna’s pop video Pour it Up was banned in countries because she performed a half-naked strip tease.
And in 2011 her video for S&M was banned for its erotic content.
Later today, the pair will share a stage at the centrepiece event of the 50th anniversary celebrations, a mega concert at Kensington Oval cricket ground in Bridgetown in front of a 20,000 crowd.
Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, is due to sing the country’s national anthem.
She is an ambassador for the island.
