SHE’S known for being bubbly and outspoken, but there was one moment in the I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! camp that gave co-host Julia Morris “unstoppable furyâ€.
“There are lots of juicy things that hit the cutting room floor,†the comedian revealed to news.com.au. “But in one of the series, somebody — and I’ll leave them remaining nameless because this didn’t go to air — said ‘why do all women in their 40s look like kegs with legs?’ and I was unstoppable in my fury.â€
It took everything in Morris’ power not to confront the offending contestant.
“That was a woman — speaking about women. I wanted to go down to camp and get a 4 x 2 [plank of wood] and bash the f**k out of her,†she explained angrily.
Despite that unsettling moment, Morris appears to be having the time of her life on the show — just don’t ever ask her to step in as a campmate: “I’d be whingeing, I’d be flipping the bird at everyone, I’d be really involved in the gossiping behind people’s backs ...â€
Speculation has already begun over who the next batch of celebrities will be to follow in the footsteps of previous contestants including Mauren McCormick, Shane Warne, Chrissie Swan and Havana Brown — but don’t bother trying to get any hints from Morris.
“I have lots of people approach me and ask me ... and I send their names on to Ten and say ‘look at this person, I reckon they’d be great’,†she revealed.
“But I can never guess who’s going in — they [casting team] always ask us to guess and Chris [Dr Chris Brown, her co-host] gets some right but I never get any.â€
Ten has dropped a couple of clues in early promos — it’s clear a soccer player and musician will be going in, along with a high-profile businessman.
And Morris does have some advice for whoever it is that eventually makes it to the South African jungle for season three in the series.
“There have always been people who have thought we’re hellbent on making fools out of them, so they kind of brace themselves and they end up missing out on the full experience,†she said.
“I got a little disappointed this year that the two younger girls had some scarring issues on their faces and wore makeup in there.
“Every day when I’d see it, it was making me angry. Mate — this is your one chance to be totally natural in your lifetime.â€
I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! returns to Network Ten in early 2017.
