THERE’S two types of people in the world.

Those who watch Channel Seven’s reality show First Dates, and those who don’t.

And to those who don’t, I’m going to tell you exactly why you should.

Because it will make you believe in love. Well, at least Shadi Alexander will.

First Dates is exactly what it sounds like, two people filmed while awkwardly fumbling through generic questions about each other, sipping drinks as often as they can to fill empty silence.

But then in walks Shadi, who has now been on the show three times but still hasn’t managed to score a second date.

He even admitted to Fairfax Media after his second appearance on First Dates, when he had dinner with model turned security officer Milanka, he went back to his hotel room and cried while eating a pizza.

The question is, why and how is Shadi still single?

He’s a handsome 28-year-old who drives the Red Rooster company car delivering chicken and, most importantly, has a wicked sense of humour, proven by all his creative, and cringe-worthy, pick-up lines.

Sadly, he’s an expert at friend zoning, which he managed to do again last night while on a date with a woman named Danielle, who Shadi described as an “11”.

The best thing about Shadi is he’s just a down-to-earth, genuine Aussie bloke.

He beats all those men off The Bachelor, who are like carbon cutout Ken dolls who all seem to have a specific type. Shadi’s personality is better than any sixpack.

Shadi is pretty skilful when it comes to pick-up lines. On one of his many televised dates, Shadi told a woman she had something on her face — beauty. How could she not fall for that?

He smoothly asked Danielle if her hands were heavy, because he wanted to hold them and take a bit of the weight for her, but that one seemed to go over her head unfortunately.

The 28-year-old, who is also a TV production student, is just a goofy guy who chats to his mum about women while he’s in the toilet and he’s a gentleman who pays the bill.

The question is starting to be asked, what is wrong with all the women he’s dating?

He’s captured hearts right around Australia and the country is now behind his quest for love with some even calling for him to become the next Bachelor.

The man loved for his cringe-worthy pick-up lines, is even backed by the waiters and bar staff in the restaurant where his dates are filmed. He is even on a first-name basis with the maître d’.

Fans of the young Lebanese man have shared their support on social media, with one woman giving him a shout out on Twitter.

“Good on Shadi for putting himself out there, being himself and being optimistic. I’m way too self conscious to be that brave,” she said.

Other men could certainly learn a thing or two when it comes Shadi, though single Sunrise presenter Samantha Armytage may disagree.

Appearing on the morning show to discuss his failing love life, Shadi thought he might as well take a chance on Armytage.

Shadi shared his classic line, “is your surname, internet, because I’m feeling a strong connection” but he tested out a new one on Armytage, which went down like a lead balloon.

“I have a new one that I am trying, ‘are you an interior decorator, because you’ve been lighting up the room’,” he said.

Armytage seemed uncomfortable and said his line didn’t seem that genuine.

I’m sure many would disagree.

Shadi might have a prospective partner in Roxy, a woman who he met through the show but didn't date, but he told Fairfax Media he thinks they’re friends.

Let’s hope we see Shadi back again, this guy deserves as many chances as he wants.

How he doesn’t have ladies lining up for him now is a mystery.
