A WOMAN who is the latest winner of Lotto’s Set for Life knew instantly what chore she would axe now she had $20,000 a month extra for 20 years.

The woman, who was the first prize winner with her husband, said she will throw away the iron and hired someone in future to smooth out the creases of the family’s clothes.

“Righto, I’m sitting down!” the woman from the Queensland city of Mackay said when Golden Casket phoned to break the news this morning they’d won $20,000 a month for 20 years.

“Wow! You wouldn’t believe what this means — absolutely everything! It’s a complete change of lifestyle for us!

“I was ironing when you phoned, and I hate to iron you see, and I thought ‘who could this be calling?’… Now I’ll be able to get an ironing lady! I don’t mind doing the cleaning but I hate ironing — so that’s it, I’m done!

“I think there’s something strange about people who like to iron,” she laughed.

The woman and her husband, who used a 10-set Jumbo QuickSET entry every week, also revealed how else they would spend their windfall.

“There’s a good chance we’ll go on a holiday! We’ll have to go somewhere to hide the smiles on our faces,” she laughed.

“So I’ll buy a new car and we can go on some trips down to the north coast and the Gold Coast. “All I want more than anything in the world is for my new car to have a reversing camera — I’ve got very simple taste.

“And another thing I’ll do is buy some new furniture including a lounge suite that reclines. We’re long overdue for an update.

“My children will probably tell us to put the money away but I think I’ll spend it while I can and have a good time. But of course family is the most important. I’ll be able to pay off my kids’ bills — that’s where most of it will go I would say, on the kids.”

The newest Set for Life 1st Prize winners, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased their 10-Set Jumbo QuickSET entry from Nextra Caneland News & Gift, in Caneland Central in Mackay.
