Kala Brown has told police she saw her boyfriend get shot.

A US court has heard 30-year-old Ms Brown told authorities she and her boyfriend David “Charlie” Carver, went to the property of Todd Kohlhepp, a real estate agent she occasionally worked for, and alleged he killed Mr Carver by shooting him.

Kohlhepp, 45, was arrested yesterday after police made the sensational discovery of Ms Brown in a padlocked metal container “chained like a dog”. He has been charged with kidnapping but not murder.

After she was found Ms Brown said she believed there could be four bodies close by, sparking an urgent search and fears by police of a serial killing.

She said she had been held captive for two months.

At a bail hearing for Kohlhepp on Friday afternoon (local time) 7th Circuit Solicitor Barry Barnette aid the couple went to the sprawling property August 31st. It was there she alleges Kohlhepp shot Mr Carver, NBC reported.

Barnette said he is confident there will be a murder warrant in connection with the case.

Authorities found numerous guns on Kohlhepp’s property. Barnette said it was “unbelievable how much ammo he had in his building.”

Both Ms Brown and Mr Carver had families in court for the hearing.

The revelation in court came as it emerged a body had been found in a shallow grave on Kohlhepp’s property.

It has not yet been identified, and police have not yet released what gender it is.

Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright confirmed the discovery and said he couldn’t rule out more bodies would be found.

Mr Wright said it would be some time before the identity of the body was confirmed. He said Ms Brown “seems to be doing much better today”.

In a statement the Carver family said: “At this time we know no more than what has been reported within the media or statements made by law enforcement. We ask that you continue to pray for Kala’s healing and for David’s safe return as well. In the meantime, we ask for some time to ourselves as we process events as they unfold.”

According to CBS affiliate WSPA, Kohlhepp has been registered as a sex offender in South Carolina for a 1987 conviction in Arizona for kidnapping, according to WSPA. He was 15 when he was accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

He will return to court on January 19, 2017.

Ms Brown and Mr Carver vanished in August in mysterious circumstances. They “left” home suddenly which their family and friends said was out of character.

Then posts began appearing on Mr Carver’s Facebook page which his family didn’t believe he made.
