A 23-year-old Brisbane woman allegedly raped another woman after she posed as a man on Tinder.

A BRISBANE woman has been charged with the rape of a woman she met on Tinder, allegedly after posing as a man on the dating app.

The 23-year-old woman, who the court heard is transitioning from a woman to man, sat in the dock of the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday with short hair and a beard.

She is charged with five offences, including two counts of rape, sexual assault, deprivation of liberty and causing bodily harm.

The offences allegedly occurred at the house of the accused in Brisbane’s north at the weekend, after the pair matched on the Tinder.

The prosecutor said there was “strong evidence” in the case and that the victim had suffered serious injuries.

The defence said consent would be a key issue in the case.

The Courier-Mail reported the accused wore a beard in her profile picture and included the words: “If you notice something about the thickness of my neck or the broadness of my shoulders that makes you feel I’d be an agile hunter and provide well for our children, you are correct.”

A disease test was ordered on the accused, before the case was adjourned until November 21.

She has been released on bail.
