A man killed by a falling tree near the New South Wales town of Canowindra is understood to be the father of murdered teacher Stephanie Scott.
9NEWS understands Robert Scott's body was located this morning, after emergency services were called to a farm on Namami Road to reports a man aged in his 60s had died.
It is believed Mr Scott went out to clear the property yesterday and did not return home.
Police said the family had been informed and were "besides themselves".
The incident comes less than three weeks after his daughter's murderer, Vincent Stanford, was sentenced to life in prison for killing the teacher on Easter Sunday 2015.

Stanford, a school cleaner, confessed to murdering Ms Scott at Leeton High School, where they both worked, days before she was to be married.
He dragged her into a storeroom and attacked her with his fists and a large knife before dumping and burning her body 70km away in the Cocoparra National Park.
Mr Scott described his daughter as "the nicest lady you've ever met" at a memorial picnic held in April last year.
"Tragedies happen, we can't change that, we can't deal with it any better than we have," he said.
"We do know we had a great girl and we are going to continue to remember her for what she was."
Mr Scott stood by his wife Merrilyn's side outside court last month as she spoke about their beloved daughter.
"We need to be kind to ourselves and let the music and fun back in," she said on October 14, immediately after the sentencing.
"We need to be able to fade from public view, to mourn our beautiful girl and work our way through our grief."
