IT WAS a moment made for social media.

Following the end of yesterday’s third and final US Presidential debate, Donald Trump ripped a page from his notepad before shoving it into his pocket.

The moment didn’t go unnoticed.

Some saw it as a little temper tantrum after a tough debate against rival Hillary Clinton, others weren’t so certain while social media fans decided to make it into a GIF.

But why the Republican nominee ripped the page out in the first place remains a mystery, other than the possibility it contained something really important.

Well the mystery has been solved after a sharp-eyed video editor captured a close up of the businessman’s notes.

Washington Post video editor Gillian Brockwell shared what Trump wrote via Twitter.

But if you think they contained some bombshell information about Clinton or a state secret you’ll be left sorely disappointed.

While most of the note can’t be made out that well there are a few key things which can be made out.

“No boots”

“Predictable”

“Iran — policies”.

Trump was asked by moderator Chris Wallace how he would keep a defeated Islamic State out of Iraq.

While his answers didn’t exactly explain how it could be achieved it at least showed he made some debate preparation — something he didn’t do in the fist clash with Clinton.

Trump was heavily critical of America’s decision to announce its withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan and has repeatedly claimed the US should never have been there in the first place.

“Whatever happened to the element of surprise, okay? We announce we’re going after Mosul. I have been reading about going after Mosul now for about — how long is it, Hillary, three months? These people have all left. They’ve all left.

“The element of surprise. Douglas MacArthur, George Patton spinning in their graves when they see the stupidity of our country. So we’re now fighting for Mosul, that we had. All she had to do was stay there, and now we’re going in to get it.

“So we’re now going to take Mosul. And do you know who’s going to be the beneficiary? Iran.”

That didn’t stop social media having a field day, with a series of GIFs and memes following the note ripping incident.
