Courtney is banished from The Bachelorette mansion by Georgia.

WHEN Georgia Love put her foot down and banished Courtney Dober from The Bachelorette mansion on Thursday night, he showed little emotion as he stood up and walked out.

But that’s just what viewers were shown. A lot more happened that we didn’t see.

“We definitely spoke after that,” Courtney told news.com.au, clarifying he didn’t simply walk out of the mansion without a word.

“I wished her all the best and said she deserved all the happiness in the world and I hope she finds it in one of the boys that are left. We definitely had a chat and I definitely had that chat in the limo (the post-elimination monologue) but unfortunately there’s only so much time and it got cut.”

Georgia’s frustrations with Dober began bubbling in recent weeks and her concerns finally spilt over last night when she demanded to know his true feelings in an intense confrontation.

“If you’re asking me do I think I can tell you that I love you at the end of this, I don’t know,” he told her matter-of-factly. “Am I in love with you right now? No. Are you in love with me right now? I don’t think so. And I’ve said to you, if I’m there at the end then I’m a hundred per cent in. Whether that’s enough to carry us any further, then who knows.”

It wasn’t enough for a fed-up Georgia, who then banished Dober from the mansion.

“I don’t really see any point in having a rose ceremony tonight,” she told him. “I think you should go now.”

On camera, Dober responded to Georgia’s concerns mostly through moody silences and stares rather than words. But, again, he says there was more to it.

“There definitely was more talking on my side on the night, unfortunately you didn’t see that,” he said.

“There was definitely no anger, it was just frustration,” he added of the tension we saw. “I was very frustrated that personally I couldn’t get to the level of feelings she wanted me to be at and it was the realisation I couldn’t do it.”

While the 30-year-old industrial designer caught Georgia’s eye from the beginning and immediately cemented himself as a fan favourite to win, his mixed-messages and disinterested attitude left the Bachelorette confused.

“I was absolutely into her and it did upset me as to how disinterested I came across on the show because it wasn’t the case and Georgia knew exactly how I felt about her which is why I was there for the length of time I was,” he said.

While Dober says he was “gutted” and “devastated” things ended the way they did, he says he had to be honest about his feelings.

“I told her I wished I’d met her on the outside without the restraints of the show. But it just came down to whether I could fall in love in that short period of time and I couldn’t promise her I would,” he said.
