ELVIS may have left the building — but he’s heading back to arenas as part of another virtual tour.
Next year fans of the King can pay to see The Wonder of You, a national tour of Australia.
The tour features Elvis’ voice (and image) on screen while a 40 piece orchestra play live along to his vocals.
It comes on the back of last year’s successful If I Can Dream album, featuring Presley’s songs reworked by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
A follow up orchestral Elvis album, The Wonder of You, is released on October 21 and features new versions of Suspicious Minds, Kentucky Rain, Amazing Grace and Always on My Mind.
The tour is endorsed by Priscilla Presley and Elvis Presley Enterprises and will be launched in the UK next month before the Australian leg next year.
“What an honour for us to be able to produce a live concert experience that evolved out of what has become a very prestigious and beloved album backed by a full and rich symphony orchestra,†Presley said in a statement.
Dates are Perth Arena May 26, Adelaide Entertainment Centre May 28, Brisbane Entertainment Centre June 1, ICC Theatre Sydney June 2, Margaret Court Arena Melbourne June 9 and Derwent Entertainment Centre June 11.
Tickets go on sale 10am, October 19.
