A COMEDY routine recorded a day before the 9/11 terror attacks, which contained a joke about Osama bin Laden bringing down a plane, has surfaced after it was shelved 15 years ago.
George Carlin, who died in 2008 at the age of 71, recorded the stand up routine for a HBO special in 2001.
Called I kinda Like It When a Lotta Pople Die, Carlin wisely decided to pull the sketch in the wake of the disaster which killed 3000 people.
According to The New York Times, the recording will be broadcast on Sirius XM and will be available through Amazon and iTunes on September 16.
The special runs for an hour and includes a recording where the American stand-up comedian and author joked about Osama bin Laden bringing a plane down due to farting.
“You know who gets blamed? Osama bin Laden,†he joked. “The FBI is looking for explosives. They should be looking for minute traces of rice and bok choy.â€
The social critic and author was regarded as left leaning and was often sceptical of the government.
Carline also even ridiculed airport security processes just two years prior to the attacks which changed the world.
