In the late 80s, Rob Lowe was flying high following a string of movies including St Elmo’s Fire and The Outsiders. But his reputation took a serious hit in 1989 after a tape was leaked showing him having sex with two girls — one of whom was just 16 years old. To this day, the star insists he didn’t know she was underage.

Twilight co-stars Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson delighted fans all over the world when they got together in 2009 — but it all came crashing down just three years later when photos surfaced of Stewart hooking up with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.

After the cheating was exposed, the notoriously cagey Stewart issued a public apology to Pattinson. They began dating again, but ended it not long after — he’s now reportedly engaged to FKA Twigs and she is dating her assistant Alicia Cargile.

Michael Jackson’s habit of hanging out with young boys raised eyebrows for years before his death. The King of Pop was accused of child molestation in 2005, though he was later acquitted. However, after his shock death in 2009, more charges surfaced — including from dancer Wade Robson, who is suing the late singer’s estate, alleging Jackson abused him when he was young.

Former Hollywood favourite Mel Gibson was arrested 10 years ago for suspected drink-driving in Malibu — and apparently made anti-Semitic remarks to the officer that pulled him over. According to a police report, the Passion of the Christ director asked the cop if he was Jewish and said: “F**king Jews. The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world.”

He later apologised, explaining that the comments were “blurted out in a moment of insanity,” labelling his behaviour as “despicable.”

It looked like a match made in heaven when Friends actress Jennifer Aniston married movie star Brad Pitt in 2000. For years, their union seemed to be a rare Hollywood success — until rumours started swirling about Pitt and his attractive Mr and Mrs Smith co-star Angelina Jolie. Aniston and Pitt announced their shock breakup in 2005 — later, Pitt admitted he “fell in love” with Jolie on the set of their movie that same year. The pair is now married with six kids, three of whom are adopted.

But one night, while in Hollywood promoting his new film Nine Months, Grant apparently decided to take a walk on the wild side. He was busted by police having sex with prostitute Divine Brown on LA’s notorious Sunset Strip. Grant later described it as a moment of “insanity.” “Last night I did something completely insane,” he said in a statement. “I have hurt people I love and embarrassed people I work with. For both things I am more sorry than I can ever possibly say.”
