SMASH Mouth frontman Steve Harwell is said to be OK after collapsing on stage mid-performance.
On Saturday, lead singer Harwell, 49, reportedly was whisked away in an ambulance during the band’s set at a festival in Illinois in the US. Following Harwell’s unexpected departure, fans watched the group play their most memorable hits, All Star and I’m a Believer, without him.
Though Smash Mouth hasn’t addressed the incident in a statement, the band confirmed Harwell is fine via Twitter on Monday.
A founding member of Smash Mouth, Harwell has been with the band since 1994. After dropping their last album, Icon, in 2014, the Grammy-nominated group performed several shows in August, with an upcoming set scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 3, in Las Vegas.
Reps for Smash Mouth did not immediately return a request for comment.
