HOURS after Drake professed his love for Rihanna at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, the rumoured couple hit up a star-studded afterparty — and didn’t hide their affection.

The pair was spotted walking into New York City nightclub Up&Down, holding hands, about 3.30am local time.

Rihanna, 28 changed into a stunning green fringe jumpsuit for the party, while Drake, 29, opted for a blue bomber jacket, black T-shirt, jeans and black boots.

Us Weekly reports the entertainers cosied up near the DJ booth as Caribbean dancehall music played at the exclusive event, which was also attended by G-Eazy, Tinashe, Halsey, Kevin Spacey, Amber Rose, Naomi Campbell and Hailey Baldwin.

The duo left the nightclub shortly after 5am (they reportedly went back to the same hotel together), with Drake paying tribute to the Needed Me singer on Instagram.

“This is a night for us all to be thankful for what you have done for us! You have affected so many of our lives in the best way possible. Tonight we celebrate you! @badgalriri,” he wrote.

Rihanna, who performed four times at the awards show, took home MTV’s Video Vanguard Award.

Social media users were waiting for Drake to pop the question to RiRi as he presented her with the coveted award.

Meanwhile Beyonce, the undisputed queen of last night’s VMAs, also ruled her afterparty at Italian eatery Pasquale Jones.

The Halo singer and her husband Jay Z posed up for an epic photo with rapper Kanye West (and his wife Kim Kardashian), Sean ‘P Diddy’ Coombs, music mogul Steve Stoute and singer Alicia Keys.

Swizz Beatz shared the A-list snap with the caption: “Family Zone.”

Kim later shared a video of her naked in bed and thanking AirBnb “for a complimentary stay in New York”.

Meanwhile, Ariana Grande and her new boyfriend, 24-year-old Mac Miller, headed over to Vandal restaurant for the Republic Records VMAs afterparty.

She donned a casual pair of overalls, while her rapper beau sported a beige crew neck top, light blue jeans and a pink hat. Us Weekly reports the couple was spotted kissing at the bar and danced together.

Earlier in the night, Grande hit the VMAs stage with Nicki Minaj to perform Side to Side.
