SHE’S one of the biggest names in music, but Taylor Swift was nowhere to be seen at yesterday’s MTV VMAs.
Instead. the 26-year-old singer was in Nashville where she had to report for jury duty this morning.
Swift was a potential juror in an aggravated rape and kidnapping case but she asked the judge to excuse her.
Apparently the Shake It Off singer felt she would be biased in the case because she’s currently involved in a civil case after a radio DJ allegedly fondled her bum backstage at a concert in Colorado.
The judge agreed and let Swift leave, but not before some lucky people managed to take a selfie with the superstar.
One woman who took photos of Swift in court posted them on Twitter but became rather upset when the singer’s fans started sharing the pictures.
“I don’t listen to music, much less hers ... or fangirl over folks,†wrote @TracysActivism, “Had no clue this would become a ‘thing.’ It’s sillyâ€.
It’s probably for the best that Swift wasn’t didn’t attend the MTV VMAs.
Not only was she not nominated, but her arch-nemesis Kanye West was given free reign for four minutes on stage during the show to say whatever he wanted to.
And he couldn’t help but mention his ongoing feud with Swift over his Famous song.
