JTT, Scott Wolf, Dean Cain ... If you grew up in the 1990s, these are the guys you probably drooled over.
So what are those heart-throbs from yesteryear up to now and have they maintained their looks? Let’s find out.
MARK-PAUL GOSSELAAR
For four years in the early ‘90s he made girls (and some boys) swoon as Zack Morris in Saved By The Bell.
The sitcom later spawned two spin-offs, Saved by the Bell: The College Years and Saved by the Bell: The New Class, which Gosselaar also appeared in.
Since then he’s appeared in a heck of a lot of telemovies and TV shows, including: Law & Order: SVU, NYPD Blue and Weeds.
Now 42 years old, the actor will next be seen in a TV show called Pitch about a young baseball pitcher who becomes the first woman to play in the Major Leagues in the US.
DEVON SAWA
1995 was a big year for Devon Sawa. Not only did he appear as the human version of Casper but he also caused quite a stir both on the screen and on the set of Now and Then.
“That story of all the Now and Then girls fighting over me was a little blown out of proportion,†Sawa said recently to Us Weekly.
“Someone had written that me and Christina [Ricci] had a thing, which wasn’t true. We were all so young and so innocent.â€
Sawa went on to star alongside Jonathan Taylor Thomas in 1997s Wild America and then popped up in the music video for Eminem’s Stan in 2000.
He’s appeared in a number of (not so well known) movies since and was last seen on the big screen earlier this year in Punk’s Dead: SLC Punk 2.
Sawa’s now 37 years old and is married with two kids.
JONATHAN TAYLOR THOMAS
‘90s icons don’t come much bigger than JTT.
He voiced Simba in The Lion King and starred as Randy Taylor in Home Improvement before appearing alongside Devon Sawa in Wild America.
But Thomas then turned his back on Hollywood in the late ‘90s, choosing to focus on his education instead.
“When he left the show, he ended up going back to school ... and thought a lot about what he wanted to do with his life,†his former Home Improvement mum, Patricia Richardson, said on Reddit recently.
“When he was on the show at one point, he said to me he was interested in being a politician.â€
JTT made a brief TV comeback in Tim Allen’s sitcom Last Man Standing back in 2014 and according to Richardson he’s lately been doing some writing with his former Home Improvement brother.
“I do stay in touch with Zach (Zachery Ty Bryan) and Jonathan, who in fact have written a really wonderful pilot that is sort of R rated and are shopping it around town,†she said.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas is now 34 years old.
DEAN CAIN
Despite having nearly 150 acting credits to his name, Cain will always be known for playing Superman in The New Adventures of Superman.
From 1993 to 1997 Cain starred alongside Teri Hatcher on the show and he still raves about his co-star today.
“I will say that the finest Lois Lane ever is Teri Hatcher,†Cain said to The Hollywood Reporter in March.
“There is no Lois in history that compares.â€
Take that Amy Adams.
Now 50 years old, Cain can currently be seen in Netflix’s offbeat comedy, Lady Dynamite.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, he did see Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and thought it was “too long ... I dozed off a tiny bitâ€.
MARIO LOPEZ
Well we’ve included Mark-Paul Gosselaar so we have to include Saved By The Bell’s other hunk, Mario Lopez.
He played A.C. Slater on the hit show and has had a long and successful acting and TV hosting career ever since.
Lopez is currently the co-host on Channel Nine’s Hollywood news program, Extra, alongside Maria Menounos.
But he’ll always be best known for his Saved By The Bell days which he happily recreated on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last year.
SCOTT WOLF
He was engaged to Alyssa Milano and starred in Party of Five ... it doesn’t get much more ‘90s than that.
Wolf played Bailey Salinger in the teen drama which ran for six seasons and wrapped up in 2000.
He’s appeared in plenty of TV shows and movies ever since but he’s totally aware that he’ll always be known for Party of Five and he’s totally OK with that.
“Shows, or jobs, or one sort of defining thing can follow a person around through their lives, and I thank god that I loved that experience everyday, and I’m grateful for it,†he said to HuffPost Live last year.
Scott Wolf is now 48 years old and has three kids.
JESSE SPENCER
Australia fell in love with Spencer when he joined Neighbours to play Billy Kennedy in 1994.
He was one of the most popular cast members on the soap but left after five years to go and live in the UK.
Spencer made his big TV comeback in 2004 when he starred alongside Hugh Laurie in House.
He appeared in 171 episodes of the medical drama before later starring in Chicago P.D and he can now be seen in Chicago Fire alongside Lady Gaga’s ex, Taylor Kinney.
Jesse Spencer is now 37 years old.
FREDDIE PRINZE JR.
His acting credits in the ‘90s include hits like: I Know What You Did Last Summer, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and She’s All That.
Not bad huh?
Prinze Jr, who is married to Sarah Michelle Gellar, went on to star in films including Head Over Heels and Scooby-doo.
He also starred in several TV shows but didn’t exactly enjoy all of them.
“I did 24, it was terrible,†he admitted to ABC News in 2014.
“I hated every moment of it. Kiefer (Sutherland) was the most unprofessional dude in the world. That’s not me talking trash, I’d say it to his face, I think everyone that’s worked with him has said that.â€
Now 40 years old, Freddie Prinze Jr. currently co-hosts an American game show called First Impressions with Dana Carvey.
CALLAN MULVEY
The New Zealand born actor played Drazic in Heartbreak High from 1997 to 1999.
Mulvey later appeared in Home and Away, Underbelly and Rush before finding success on the big screen in the US.
He’s gone on to appear in blockbusters including: Zero Dark Thirty, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Now 41 years old, Mulvey is set to appear in Jackie Chan’s new movie Bleeding Steel which is being filmed in Sydney.
RYAN PHILLIPPE
‘90s movie stars didn’t come much sexier than Ryan Phillippe.
The actor appeared in a string of hits in the late 1990s, including: I Know What You Did Last Summer, 54 and Cruel Intentions.
It was in the late 1990s that Phillippe also met and married Reese Witherspoon with the couple having two children together before they split in 2006.
Phillippe is currently filming the lead role in a TV show called Shooter which is based on the 2007 Mark Wahlberg movie.
The show, which is about a sniper, was meant to have debuted on US TV by now but it’s air date has been postposed given the recent deadly shootings in Orlando and Dallas.
